When your new Camalen leather case arrives, it will look fantastic. There's nothing quite like the feel and smell of new leather. Some of our artisans say it's rather soothing and delicious. Well... as your leather ages, it will become even softer and better looking - but it will require a bit of tender-love-and-care. When properly cared for, our cases will last a lifetime - or longer!
Leather is a very strong and durable material and can withstand a great deal of wear and abuse. Camalen wants you to enjoy your leather cases and is providing the instructions below to help keep them looking and feeling their best.
- The first step to caring for your leather case is to wipe any dust and dirt off the leather with a clean cloth. A soft cloth will help to avoid scratching the leather - preventing dust and dirt from embedding into the skin where it can cause wear.
- After a gentle wiping, you will need to lubricate the leather to keep it subble and beautiful. This process is very easy - simply massage a liberal amount of natural leather cream into your leather case every three to four months. Always be sure your case is free of dust and dirt before applying the cream to avoid rubbing in damaging particles.
It is important to store your leather case in the right envionment. Just like you and I, direct sun can burn leather. It's recommended to keep leather away from direct sunlight and sources of high temperature. Leather must breathe to maintain its texture. When not in use, always store your leather goods in an open place - avoiding drawers and plastic or metal boxes. It's also a good idea to avoid keeping your leather case in pockets or purses for prolonged periods of time.
Take a moment each month to clean and lubricate your fine Camalen leather cases. By doing so, you will ensure your leather remains soft, supple and durable for many years to come.
